Our Story

The Yoder family came to the Rio Grande Valley in 1923 and established a Pontiac, Cadillac and Oakland automobile company by the name of Yoder Motor Company. Before the Great Depression, Bill Yoder, the oldest son and father of our present owner, set up several dealership franchises throughout the Valley. In 1941, he bought the Ford franchise in Edinburg and named it Yoder Motor Sales. Mr. William R. Yoder succeeded his father and took over the ownership and renamed it Yoder Ford, Inc. in 1991.

People-first dealership—built for real life.

In 1999, I joined our dealership as an Office Manager, not knowing it would become my life’s work. In 2001, we began doing business as Hacienda Ford, and I was given the opportunity to serve as General Manager.

Over the years, I’ve learned something I believe with my whole heart: cars may be what we sell, but people are what we’re here for. Behind every vehicle is a real life—getting to work, taking care of family, starting something new, or simply wanting to feel safe on the road.

That’s what “changing the game” means to us. We work hard to build a place that feels different—more respectful, more personal, and more real. And it starts with how we care for our own team, because the way we treat people on the inside is exactly what you feel on the outside.

Our culture has been shaped by a few commitments from the beginning:

  • Flexibility for caregivers and parents, because family isn’t a distraction—it’s life.
  • Flexibility for full-time students, because we believe in people building their future.
  • Creating opportunity through meaningful work, because stable jobs strengthen communities.

Today, we’re proud to serve guests across South Texas—from Edinburg and Rio Grande City to Alice and Kingsville—and our purpose hasn’t changed: take care of people, and everything else follows.

What you can expect at Hacienda

My hope is that you feel something simple but rare: you’re genuinely cared for.

  • Clear communication and straight answers
  • Respect for your time and your budget
  • A team that follows through—before the sale and long after
  • A comfortable experience that feels helpful, not high-pressure

If you choose Hacienda, you’re choosing a team that wants you to feel confident, supported, and worry-free—on day one and every day after.

People First. Always.
